Win Sup

Clicking a URL shortcut on the desktop always gives the
error message "The file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the folder Options control panel." But as
far as I can tell, there already is an association for
it. It's just a simple URL shortcut.

Hi,

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut

Backup this key and save as REG file. Now delete 'InternetShortcut' key.
Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Programs
Choose "Reset Web Settings"

The URL association should be rebuilt now.
