Desktop ini and thumbs db files

Greetings,

I have two sets of desktop.ini and thumbs.db files showing on my desktop
(hidden folders made visible).The desktop has otherwise been cleared of all
items.I'm wondering if I can delete one or both sets?

Yes. Desktop.ini is a file used when a folder has ben 'customised' to
tell explorer how to display it. Thumbs.db is a file used to cache
thumbnails when a folder is viewed as thumbnails. At some point someone
did a customise of the desktop folder - delete both files and it will
work as a normal folder
