Desktop Icons SLOOOOOW to load....

Can anyone help with this? The desktop icons take forever to load.
They look like little squares, then they load. I have already clean
installed
windows XP, I've checked for spyware, adware, and viruses.

I don't know what is causing this to happen.

Since we really know nothing about your computer, you can only get
general suggestions. Here are a few:

1. Something that is starting with Windows may be taking a long time. Do
clean-boot troubleshooting:

2. What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
Did you update the video drivers? If so, try rolling them back.
