Desktop icons off the screen

Many a time I save to my desktop and the icon is not there. So I go to my
computer and yes it shows it's there, so I use to just move the icon to a
desktop folder and then open the folder and move drag it back... Today I
thought... maybe if I change my screen resolution they will be there, and
aha there they are... out of view in 800 x 600, which is where I keep my
setting and like it there.... any ideas on how to stop this from
happening... besides stop saving to the desktop and save to a folder..

Before I run that.... what would that do... save settings... I'm always at
800 x 600 which has no problems.. it's just the stupid icons being saved out
of view..

Try setting your resolution higher.. then drag the icons to the center
of your desktop and re-size back to 800 x 600.

Then you can move the icons to where you want them to be.

The next time you save something to the desktop, the new icon for it
should be in line with the rest of the icons on your screen.
 
hmmmm well that's what I do... I drag it into the middle of the screen...
and the next time I save to desktop it again is off the screen in higher res
land..
