I have been trying to solve this for awhile. My desktop
icons are not showing up. A while ago I right-clicked on
the desktop and unchecked the SHOW DESKTOP ICONS option.
I often toggled this on and off. About a month ago I went
to toggle it back on and I can't get to it. When I right-
click on the desktop, nothing happens. I can right click
on the toolbar and any other item, so the right-click
function is working. But I cannot find any way to restore
my desktop icons. I have tried logging off as the current
user and back on as the local domain administrator and
the symptoms persist there also, so it is a machine-level
issue. Please help, I can't seem to find the information
I need to fix this and it is really starting to bother
me. Thanks!!!

Hi. I tried it. Unfortunately the problem persists. But
thanks for trying to help. Still looking for a solution...

I did find a tweak on that site that helped the icons
come back. I'm not sure if it was the VBS file
activedesktop.vbs or maybe securedesktopundo.reg that did
it. But, I can't tell for sure because I had to reboot
before they appeared. However, I still don't have the
option when I right-click to SHOW or HIDE desktop icons.
Anyone have any ideas about this?

THANKS PAUL! This is more progress than I have had on
this for a long time! - John
