You need to have 'Quick-Launch' enabled. To do this, right click on the
start button -> Properties -> click taskbar -> check 'quick launch' ->
OK. The quick-launch icons will be in the taskbar (usually IE, Outlook,
'show desktop' etc.) Then;
Open Start -> Programs -> program you want -> Right click on the program
shortcut -> drag it to the quick-launch taskbar (bottom) -> release
mouse button -> select copy. The icon will appear in the taskbar. You
can drag and drop (or delete) the icon shortcuts to suit your taste. You
can even put shortcuts to folders in there. Just drag and drop the shortcut.
I tried what you said. The blotter desktop icon is still not on the bar by
the start button. I want to be able to click on it instead of closing all my
windows just to see what is on the desktop. I don't want to right click on
the bar to show the desk top itself.
