At one point I found a menu somewhere that allowed me to
select which ms office xp applications (power point,
excel, word and 1 or 2 others) I wanted to have
shortcuts/icons for on my desktop? Any idea where that
menu can be found?
 
Never seen that menu, but I can suggest a very simple
alternative! To add a shortcut on your desktop go to
Start, and right click on the wanted application. From the
pop-up menu select Send To > Desktop (Create Shortcut) and
the job is done!
If you want to remove a shortcut from your desktop just
delete it! This will only make the shortcut disappear,
without affecting the application.
