I stumbed across a setting where I could put my desktop Icons in a list ,
detailed, and normal view. For the life of me I can't find it anymore.
Anyone know where that is at?

Wild guess...
The Desktop folder in your user file?
C:\Users\<yourname>\Desktop

Control panel home.
Click the heading "Appearance and Personalization"
Click the heading "Personalization"
The task panel on the left has a selection for "Change desktop icons."
That does it.

Or... Just right-click the desktop and then select 'Personalize' this will
take you to the Personalization screen a bit quicker.
