i think that's what they were calling it, but right now i can't change the
background on my desktop and it's from a virus that was on the computer from
a while ago and my stupid anti-virus programs are pretty much useless cause
they can't remove it.

does anyone know what i could do to fix the problem?

Search for the virus on a virus-removal site (e.g.
securityresponse.symantec.com) and check to make sure there are no registry
entries left behind.

This is a symptom of one of the many variants of the Smitfraud virus. Do
the preparatory steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Then do the specific removal steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Smitfraud_Trojan

Finish up with the rest of the malware removal steps from the first link
if applicable.

You should now have control over your desktop. Post back with the
results of your cleanup if you need more help.
