Desktop Folders

I have a desktop folder icon that I have deleted. It comes back every time I
restart my computer. I do not want to delete the file. How can I stop it
from showing up on the desktop? It has one of those u shape arrrows in the
left corner.

It would seem that the icon is a shortcut to something. Right-click on
the icon and look at its properties to see what the target is. If you
want more help, you'll need to provide more information. For instance,
first you say you have a desktop folder icon and then you say it is a
file. Telling us what the shortcut is would help.

It can be very hard for a non-technical person to know what to include
