Desktop folder creation and MSN Messenger problems

Recently I had two problems come up, pretty much at the same time. First, i
can not create a new folder from the right click menu on the desktop. All
of the context menu options are present, but when i attempt to create a new
forlder it gives me a message box that reads "Unable to create the folder
'New Folder.' There are no more files."
The second problem is that MSN Messenger exits unexpectedly. After being
online for about an hour, messenger shuts down but the systray icon stays
until i go to hover over it. I have Messenger 6.2 and have even tried the
7.0 Beta, but to no avail.
I have run symantec corporate anti-virus numerous times and have also run
Spybot Anti-spyware numberous times and both come up clean.
I have also tried tweaks at kellys-korner-xp.com, which i see is a regular
contributor, but they did not work either.
This is extremely frustrating and any help would be appreciated.

I have the same exact problem of not being able to create folders or
any other objects on desktop when i right click, and go to NEW. I tried
the kellys corner, but did not work. Everywhere else i can create new
folders except on the desktop. Any help? PLEASE
 
Aren't you lucky! I wish I could find some way of stopping it even starting
up!
