We would appreciate any assistance on following... We have 3 users on the XP
Home SP2. We would like all to have the same desktop theme and have all the
same shortcuts when they log in. The theme (azor) I have done by changing
the 'display', but I cant get the same shortcuts.

Hi,

Shortcuts that you want to be available to all users should be placed in
these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Rick, thanks for the prompt reply, and please note that we are not computer
smart!! The shortcuts we are refering to are icons that say take you direct
to, and open, MS word etc. How do I get the "source"link" or location of
the icons on Alisons screen into the location you suggest?

Thanks, Tom

Hi,

Right click the start button, choose Explore. This will open to the start
menu under your user profile. You need to expand to this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Start Menu\Programs

Then locate the icon and move it to this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Same thing applies to desktop icons, just go from:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Desktop

To:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

Rick, Many thanks, your advice worked a treat (as you knew it would !!)

I deleted or moved all the icon from the <user>desktop and inserted into
<alluser>desktop.

In Start, I deleted the old icons (old ISP etc). Left some folders which
have odd items in them, WMedia Player,Keyboard etc.

Odd when log into the different <user> get a few icon dropped from one
screen and on other user one other icon dropped.

Is it because I have left some in the <start> folder?

Hi,

They may be remnants left in those user profiles' folders.
