Recently I downloaded several recommended Microsoft patches. When finished I was prompted to restart my PC. I did so, but when my PC rebooted, the text on desktop icon labels and pull down dialog boxes is garbled. Hard to describe ... I guess wingdings is as close as I can come to describing. However, when I open up files, ghe text, though altered, is readable.
Have tried doing multiple system restores (a real pain because I had to guess which links to click cause I can't read them). However, every time the PC reboots after going through the motions of a restore, I get a warning that says the restore could not be completed. No reason is given. In additon, I can no longer connect to internet on this PC.
I realize that I have not done a great job of describing this problem but it's the best I can think of.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have any thoughts?
Thank you .
