I am needing to fix some broken shortcuts on several pc's start bars in WinXP.

After doing an install, when the user cliks start, the icons listed are
broken, rather then go pc to pc and fix them all manually i would like to be
able to create a file that would fix the icons for me. In order to do that
however, I need to know where the settings for this are stored. can anyone
tell me?

Its not that the links are not associated correctlye, they just point to the
wrong place after the upgrade.

Hello,
The shortcuts on the Start Menu should be at one of two locations or under
one of the subfolders:
\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu\Programs
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
Thanks,

Yeah, thats what I thoguht too. But those are still not the short cuts I am
talking about. I am talking about the short cuts onthe start bar on the
upper left. The ones you can "pin" to the start menu. Those are the ones I
need to modify.
