The Dell version is tied to the machine it is shipped with.
It may not be moved to another machine even in the event of the "death" of
the Dell machine.
No support is provide by Microsoft, you must use Dell
Dell may also supply specific drivers and configuration modifications as
well as additional applications etc with their install that do not come on
the retail version.

Answered in the basics group. Please don't multi-post - if you must cross
post then do so to three groups maximum, putting the names in the newsgroups
field. It is very annoying for those of us who monitor many groups to keep
reading the same message over and over, without knowing whether we've
already replied.

Biggest difference is that they use a different set of Product Keys.
All the Dell specific files can be removed from an .ISO of the CD with
the right tools and then reburned so that it looks like a generic OEM
copy.

"Trustworthy Computing" is only another example of an Oxymoron!
"Produkt-Aktivierung macht frei!"

And change the setupp.ini when you burn it and you have a
Retail CD that accepts OEM keys........lol

The same could be said for the content of your own posts. But I won't
mention it.
