Hello - I have a Dell Desktop Dimension 4600 with Windows XP home.
When the power is turned on it will only display the Dell screen and
the loading bar only goes to half way and stops and does nothing else.
Ive tried unplugging everything and swapping memory, no beeps go off
as well. thanks!

Have you tried hitting the F8 key when the computer boots and selecting
other boot options like Last Known Good or Safe Mode?

Yes, i guess its unable to get to the point in startup. right when the
machine comes on its stuck so i dont see the hit F8 for setup or the
memory test.

So it doesn't make it past the Dell boot screen, it fails or doesn't
complete the POST test? Try booting with your Dell Diagnostic utility
and run hardware tests or take the computer to a competent computer
repair shop.

Sounds like your HD is messed up. You should be able to hit F2 to get into
the BIOS before you get to the Windows screen. If you can get into the BIOS,
set your boot options to boot from the CD drive and then put some bootable
disk in there such as your Windows installation disk. Then try to access
your HD. If you can't access your HD, you know it's messed up. If it's
messed up, I'd buy and use SpinRite from grc.com ($80). It boots from the CD
drive.
