Dell computer does not see floppy disk except in Device Mgr.

I was helping a friend yesterday with AU and noticed that his Floppy Drive did not show up under Windows Explorer, yet it did show up as working properly under Device Mgr.

I checked the connections and they seemed to be ok. His machine is a fairly recent DELL and he uses Windows XP. All other things seem to work well.
Any ideas?

Sorry, I can't help with that, other than to guess that your ISP's News
server doesn't include it. You can access through Google Groups and search
(you have to "join" to post and reply).

I used them early on in my Dell experience and found them to be slow and
hard to find what I was looking for. Maybe they've improved.
