Can anywone tell me how to delete a file burned to a CD.
I keep getting the message it's a "read only"
file. .... Is there some way to chage it so it can be
deleted?

No. A CDR by its very nature is a read-only device. If you want
that ability, you should be using a CDRW drive and CDRW disks.

Per the other advice, the only way to "delete" a file on a CD-R is to bust
up the CD so it's useless. Just be sure to copy items you DO want back to
the hard drive before you do (:
