Hi,

I have a computer with Windows XP Pro (Japanese version) installed on it and
I wish to install an English version of XP Home.

However when I try and install XP Home, it tells me that I am trying to
install it on a 'partition' that contains another operating system.

How would I proceed to format my drive so that XP Home is the only version
of windows installed on my computer?

Many thanks

You boot from the Home CD and delete the partition during setup.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if necessary to
accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean installation (delete the
existing partition by pressing "D" when prompted, then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:

hi~
you can insert Windows home edition installation CD in CD-ROM and boot it
then the installation program will give you some option such as remain
perserver O.S.
or format the partition that contain pre OS.
I think if you want remain per OS you can install windows home edition in
another
partition or format all partion to install windows home edition.
