deleting update files

I deleted a long list of XP update files on my PC to save space. But they
still appear on my Add/Remove applications. How do I correct this
discrepancy?

Simply click the "Remove" button next to each listing. XP will display
a notice that the Uninstall function isn't available and offer the ability
to remove the item from the Add/Remove listing. Otherwise, you can
untic the "Show Updates" option box and they (updates/hotfixes) will
not appear for any product.
