deleting unwanted gifs from Outlook.pst

Hi folks,

I recently wanted to send holiday pics to an o/s relative totalling 44Mb but
cancelled the email due to what became a too lengthy process. I duly deleted
the email/attachements from Sent Folder and Deleted Files Folder.

I want to backup Outlook.pst as I am about to format/reinstall XP Pro/Office
Pro2002 and find to my dismay that the folder contains the 44MB of deleted
files.

Is there any way I can open Outlook.pst and manually delete these unwanted
files?

You should compact the PST file. Tools | Options | Mail Setup | Data
Files | select the data file, click Settings and you'll find the Compact
Now file.
