Deleting tmp files en masse

Joint family computer use has resulted in the accumulation of nearly 1300 tmp
files which are slowing the computer down. I've searched for them all and
found them but how do I delete them all en masse instead of sitting here
deleting them all individually and then removing them from the recycle bin?
And are there any that I should keep?

I would suggest you try cCleaner.

With any cleaner you need to proceed with caution. I invariably
recommend creating a restore point before using cCleaner.
cCleaner also offers backup before removal.

When using cCleaner think twice before checking before
Autocomplete Form History under Internet Explorer.
You do get a warning but this one has irritating consequences.

Select all the files you want to delete, hold SHIFT and then press the
DELETE KEY. That will bypass the Recycle Bin and just delete them.
You usually do not need to keep any .tmp files...I have never ran into
any that I actually needed.

You need to keep temporary files until after a successful reboot.

Clare did say 1,300 files!
