In Internet Options - Advanced I selected empty temporary internet files folder when browser is closed but when I look at the folder properties are still many files and folders there but I can not see them. My main issue is why can't I see them. thanks.
It's normal that they are hidden.
If you want to see them...
In Windows Explorer click TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|VIEW tab and put a
checkmark in the "display full path in the address bar" box.
And under the VIEW menu|TOOLBARS, enable the ADDRESS BAR.
Then click once on the Temporary Files directory (folder).
To the path shown in the address bar, add \Content.IE5
The path will them be something like this...
C:\Documents and Settings\<usernam>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5
Press <enter>. Note that the subdirectory is now displayed at the left,
under the Temporary Internet Files branch.
Or simply enter the full path, as above, in the START|RUN box.
