Deleting Spam Folders

Hi all. I have several spam folders e.g., zsearch, websearch, lycos sidebar, etc.... That i'm unable to delete
I believe the files in these folders are causing pop-ups to appear on my screen, very annoying. Everytime I try and
delete one of these folders I receive the following message

Acces denied. Make sure disk is not write proectected or the file is not in use

All of other users accounts are logged off. I cleaned the disk up. I'm at a loss....

Any help would be appriectated

Perform a scan looking for malware using updated ad-aware and spybot:
Ad-aware

Spybot S&D

If the folders remain, try to delete them from safe mode (F8)

Or if you have Nero, try to delete them through the Nero browser.

Another option: Open a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd)
navigate to the folder using the command cd, cd..

Open task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) and kill explorer.exe. The
explorer shell will close.

Go to the command prompt and type:
rd name_of_folder /s

Open a new task in task manager ---> Explorer.exe
