I have been trying to delete programs such as Pinball, Netmeeting,
Moviemaker... I just can't seem to do it. I do know about going into
sysoc.inf and deleting the word hide behind the particular files that you
want to remove from add/remove programs. However, everytime I delete remove
these files or try to delete them manually the exact same file pops-up
again. Is there a fail safety program running that I can turn off that will
let me delete these files. Also, does anyone know how to remove netmeeting
and moviemaker. I'm desperate for help so I cross-posted hope that okay.

Through the registry is the only failsafe way. Programs
like JV16 Power Tools have a good registry finder and
cleaner. Be careful though. The registry is the heart of
your OS. Keep smiling.

Netmeeting can't be deleted. It's so small anyway ... just remove the
shortcuts (if any) you have which launch it. Can even change the
permissions on the file conf.exe to disallow it to be used.

Re deleting moviemaker... I notice (like you) that there is no clear way
to do this. Suggest searching on the newsgroup specific to moviemaker,
e.g. microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker as this surely been asked and
answered before.

Unless you are *really* desperate to delete this stuff, recommend you
not mess with the registry for all of this.

Thanks,

That's exactlly what I need. I knew about Windows File Protection and
that's the reason I kept having the files overwritten. Thanks again for
solving my problem.
