Deleting photo's from CD

I have downloaded some photo's onto CD from the computer from the "my pictures" folder
When i try to delete photo's from my cd, it refuses and says connot delete these files as they are read only. No matter what I do i cant change these atrributes. it seems to put all the photo's as read only when I download them
Can anyone help please.
 
When you copy with XP to a CD-R you cannot delete anything on it..
When you copy with XP to a CD-RW you can delete, but the only option is to
erase all the files on the CD-RW.
You can copy to CD-R or CD-RW with software like Roxio version 7 (or other
software) that will make your CD operate just like a floppy disc and so you
can delete individual files. However, this is not possible when you use XP
to copy.
