Deleting HotFixes

My clients and I are losing large blocks of Hard Drive
storage area to the Windows XP hotfixes, after these have
been installed.

Question: Is it necessary to keep the downloaded hotfix
files on the hard drive after they have been installed?
Will it affect their function if the downloaded files are
deleted, say, thru control panel/add and remove files?

If you do that you'll remove the HotFix too.

Go here and download the shareware that removes the listing but not the fix.
