I was just wondering if there is a way to delete files directly in
Windows XP without having to first go through the recycle bin.

Thank you.

Shift+Del bypasses the recycle bin. You can also hold down the shift key
before selecting the delete option or I believe.

1. Delete by using Shift+Delete
2. Delete from Command Prompt
3. Right click Recycle bin > Properties
Tick "Do not move files to recycle bin, delete them ...."

Be careful with that setting for the recycle bin that Ayush posted. If you
do that all deleted files will bypass the recycle bin.
