Is there a simple way to delete or erase internet
explorer hidden temp files or history in index.dat files
without reformating computor? I bought computor as used
but has some questionable url history in index.dat
folders.

The index.dat files are in use unless you log in from a different
profile (such as administrator). Then just delete the index.dat files in
the Temporary Internet Files, History, and Cookies folders (you can also
just delete those folders).

You might also want to search the regsitry for "TypedUrls" and delete
anything offensive using regedit (backup your registry first)

The free utility Internet Sweeper, from http://www.bmesite.com/ is very
handy for this. It will erase as much as you want, including .dat files on
next boot.
