deleting email from inbox

I'm using Outlook 6.

Something happened in the last couple of weeks that prohibits me from
deleting emails in my Inbox. What must I do to regain the ability to delete
emails that I have read and want to dispose of?
 
Please clarify your version of Outlook; there is no such thing as
Outlook 6. Do you mean Outlook Express? If so, please post your question
in an Outlook Express group such as
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general
