How does one delete a whole document from Word. You can select all and delete but only the text disappears, the header and the blank document refuses to disappear. The Help menu doesn't help:(

Two ways:

1. Open Windows Explorer, browse to the desired folder, select the file,
press the "Delete" key.
2. Open Word, click "File", "Open", browse to the desired folder,
right-click the desired file, select "Delete".

You can't delete it while it's open. You have to close it, then select and
delete it from the File Open dialog or Windows Explorer.
