Since you have Partition Magic (hopefully version 8 or a least 7 plus
patches?), run and let it tell you what is on the external disk. Even if
the disk had no partitions, PM ought to see it and tell you that. If PM
does see no partitions, then you probably deleted all the partitions, not
just one of them. If it sees a partition, what does it see as the format?
FAT32 or NTFS are usable by XP. If PM seems to say that everything is OK,
then go to the XP disk management console and see what it says. Perhaps the
problem is as simple as needing to re-assign a letter to the remaining
partition so windows explorer can see it? But, if PM see something weird,
gives and error on the disk, etc, then I would suggest that you try some
file recovery software to copy whatever files you can off of the disk, then
delete all partitin, then create new one(s), then format those.

I created a partition on my external HDD last week, and later decided to
delete it, which i did with PartitionMagic. Now, as a result of doing so, my
computer can recognise the device, but cannot read it at all (not even the
partition i left intact).
I think i may have corrupted the partition table somehow. Is there any way
that i can still access my external drive?
