I've downloaded Service Pack 2 but on the advise of a
friend, who suggested I wait a few months til all the
bugs are out, am wanting to delete SP2 from the update
queue. In other words, I've downloaded but not installed.
How do you delete it from the update queue?

SP2 was released in its final form and is not going
to be changed. I would suggest you go ahead and
install it.

Too bad SP2 is in its final form. It appears, after reading this newsgroup,
that many people, myself included, are having problems with computer
performance after installing SP2. The CPU usage has now gone through the
roof and you can't even try to open two programs at once. Do you have a fix
for this? - or do we just delete SP2 and wait for ????????

Thanks for any input you have on this and please, for those who are
experiencing this "slowdown" problem, tell us how we should proceed.

Thanks again

Service packs are like Judgement Day for systems that are misconfigured or
inadequately protected against malware, and for users who have not adopted
good computing practices.

The same complaining was heard about Service Pack 1 and the original release
of Windows XP.

True as that may be - that is not me. My computer is clean and virus and
malware free! I have excellent computer practices. My computer has been
running error free for 9 months and I keep a watchful eye on it. I had no
problems until I downloaded SP2. To say that "service packs are like
Judgment Day" for "misconfigured" systems is a poor excuse of a cop-out; and
implying that those of us who were unfortunate enough to be plagued with
this problem are computer illiterates is inexcusably insulting, but more
importantly, totally ignorant.

Newsgroup etiquette: If you do not have any information regarding a problem
and only want to insult - please do not reply and waste everyone's time.

So much for getting help. Thanks again!

Your kidding -- right? I can guarantee you that my computer is clean and
virus free. Have you read the newsgroup posts? Are there not others who
are having the same problem after installing SP2? Are you saying that
everyone that has a problem with SP2 must have a virus - Gee what a
convenient excuse. Thanks for your help?????? Oh yeah, that's right --
your not here to help -- just to make excuses. Again, if you offer no
solutions, it would be greatly appreciated if you kept your inane irrelevant
thoughts to yourself.
