I had made a restore point. I went to delete some
Symantec keys following there instructions, well I just
about made it, second to the last instruction I deleted
the file
HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Run
instead of looking to the right and deleting what they
said ccApp, ccRegVfy, GhostStartTrayApp, SymTray - Norton
SystemWorks.
I realized I had done the wrong thing but went ahead and
did the last step fixing the recyle bin. Then I thought
I would go to the restore point that I made before I
started editing the registry BUT NOOO it went through the
restore restarted and said nothing was changed I tried
two more restore points when I had installed my printers
but that didn't work either!! So what do I do now???
Will a ball bat work????

Hi

Do you mean that you have deleted the whole of HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Bloody Symantec - they don't only horse around with your apps. but oik your Registry up as well. I hope that you have learnt your lesson and will uninstall **all** Norton/Symantec products that you have on your system.

What happens if you press F8 just before the Windows Logon screen and then select 'Last Known Good Configuration'?

Yes I deleted the whole thing!! And yes I was trying to
delete all symantec. I was going to reinstall Norton
Anti Virus though ???? I have not tried the last now good
config. yet. It seems like my computer is running okay.
What was that key for?

Hi

Taken in order:

If you system is running OK now, there is no need to do anything.

If you are still getting a Registry error, then a 'Repair Install' is needed.
