I deleted the main user account by mistake annd now I
can't find any of the files that were associated with
that user (ie. My Documents).

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks in advance.

Start / Run: C:\Documents and Settings\usernamegoeshere [ENTER]

Deleting a user account does not delete the user files associated with the
acount.

Thank you.

I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. I saw a
knowledgebase document that said to re-create the user.
Well, I did that, but now I'm just getting the new files
when I run your suggestion. I also log in as
administrator and I can't find the files in explorer.

I just find it hard to believe that the files would be
deleted like that it asked if I wanted to remove the user
but nothing about the files. I am just running out of
places to look. Any more ideas?

What's in the "Documents and Settings" folder - maybe you're looking on the
wrong volume.

XP does ask if you want to keep the files, but apparently you clicked
the button that said to delete the files along with the account.

They are gone until you retrieve them with an undeleter, but you have
been using the hard disk since you deleted and the files are most likely
overwritten.
