I was trying to create more space by deleting rarely used programs and i
think i accidentally deleted my sound card.
I rebooted and it says "found new hardware" but when i try to install it,
it asks for my installation cd (that i no longer have). Is there anything I
can do??
Thanks.

If this is an OEM computer like Dell or HP go to their website and
download then install the latest drivers. If it's integrated on the
motherboard, go to the board manufacturer's web site for the drivers.
If you're unsure what sound device is there, run the free inventory
tool, Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

:
I ran the Belarc tool but theres so much info im not sure where to look for
the right information.
Its a Sony Vaio laptop btw.

Look around in there. It's divided into sections. But in your case go
to the Sony website and look for the sound drivers for your model.

Buy a new installation CD.

If you know what kind of sound card it was, you can try googling for the
drivers on the manufacturer's website.
