I'm running Outlook 2003 on XP Professional.
I mistakenly deleted the Outlook.PST folder in C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and
now Outlook won't start. I would like to create a new default PST with No
Encryption.
What I've tried so far:
1) Reinstalling outlook from Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Add/Remove
Programs -- Change option - deselected Outlook - reboot, then reverse this
process by selecting Outlook. Outlook still barfs on open saying it cannot
find the default PST.
2) Creating a "Data File" from Start>>Settings>>Control
Panel>>Mail>>DataFiles>>Add -- I choose "Office Outlook Personal Folders
File (.pst)" and click OK, and a PST is created. Outlook still barfs, this
time with a different error: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable
to open the Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened."
Do I have to completely uninstall Office?
Thanks in advance...
