Hi! I had a similar problem. Deleted box would not display messages and would
not permanently delete them.
Hilighting deleted messages made the messages dissappear too.
Went into edit and delete that did not work but 'delete all' WITHOUT
highlighting or clicking on them. One at a time they went!
It is certainly worth a try.
