and Can I delete files under C:\Windows\Temp or this may
cause problems to XP

Thanks

Greetings Mirna,

You can delete the Temp. Files by following the steps below:

1. Open up Internet Explorer

2. Go to Tools > Internet Options

3. On the General tab click on Delete Files, these would delete the temp
files!

They are log files you are recording in System Monitor. They'll keep recording till you turn it back off.

To open Performance, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Performance.
a.. For information about using Performance Logs and Alerts, in Performance, on the Action menu, click Help. For information about using System Monitor, in the console tree, click System Monitor, and then, on the System Monitor toolbar, click the Help button.

Right click any logs you find and choose Stop.

No, this deletes Temporary Internet Files, which are not the
temporary files Mirna asked about.

To answer Mirna, yes you can, and should, delete them
periosically.

Mirna, you can safely delete these files. In fact, I have a batch file set up
to run each time I start XP to do the job for me. In case you're interested,
here's the command:

del /s /q C:\WINDOWS\Temp\*.*

I have this and a few other batch files in a folder in C: called Batch Files (I
know, very original). A shortcut for this was dragged into the Startup folder
and set to run minimized.

If you're interested in trying this, just open Note Pad and copy and paste the
above command line. Save to a convenient location as something-or-other.bat
(mine is CleanTmp.bat).

All those advices are good, but I would suggest trying another thing.
well if you want to delete Windows temporary files from your computer system, the best way to do that is to try History Killer Pro. It is a history cleaner software, intended to protect your privacy by erasing everything you do on the computer.

I got it and I am risk-free today. It’s just very simple.

Hope I could help.

Nora.
