I know that restore points can't be changed, but can they be deleted? Asking
because I recently discovered that my system date had somehow got set a month
fast and at the time of this posting, there are 13 restore points that are a
month ahead of the time they're supposed to be

1. Create a new System Restore point. Start>Programs>Accessories>System
Tools>System Restore. "Create a System Restore point". Call it something
useful like "right time" or whatever.

2. Once that's done, close out of System Restore and go to Start>Run and
type: cleanmgr [enter]. You'll see a More Options tab where you can
delete all but the most recent System Restore point (which will be the
one you just made). Do this.

there is an option in Disk Cleanup to remove all but the LAST restore points.

correct your data/time.
manually create a restore point.
then do a disk cleanup.

You can delete them all, or all but the last one. Those are your only
choices.

You can also delete all of them at once by turning System Restore OFF, then
on again. This is sometimes necessary if they have become infected.

Actually everyone, there is an easier way!

You CAN turn of System Restore quite easily and effectively clean up Windows
garbage collection and hard disk space!

Try this:

1) Right Click on My Computer,
2) Click on System Restore Tab,
3) Click on "Turn Off..." check box (DO THIS FOR EACH DRIVE),
4) Click Apply then OK (note: Click APPLY first, otherwise it doesn't work
properly),
5) Shutdown and Restart,
6) Right Click on EACH hard disk, select "Disk Cleanup" and always select
all the "Positive" options if they apply to you (i.e OK etc),
7) Shutdown and restart,
8) Run your Disk Defragmentation program (either built in or 3rd party),
9) Go back to Steps 1 - 3. On step 3 - re-enable it if you like otherwise
have a Kokanee! ALSO, set your own Restore Pont Size and take the time
(like once per week/month/qtr or whatever to manage it). In other words, do
the same thing again,
10) Optionally (I suggest to do so), Create a NEW restore point IF you've
re-enabled.

All is well.

NB: I suggest restarting cause that's what I do (not quite so much with
Fedora). To be fair and honest, I don't know for sure if you have to, but
with GIMBLES (that would be Windows), I always shut down and restart.

That worked, thanx :-)
