delete "links" icon in win explorer under favorites

Newbe with a new Toshiba Satellite notebook with winXP. Using

internet exlorer, I would like to delete the "links" icon under

favorites, permanently. When I delete, it come back the next time I

start interent explorer. Is there a setting in the registry or maybe a

setting in win explorer? Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Just set the attributes of the Links folder to Hidden if you don't
want to see or use this valuable resource.
