I want to delete my first sample presentations. The files are now gone, but
the opening screen of PP asks if I want to choose any of the existing files.
Those references are the ones I want to delete. This list appears only on
the opening screen where you have the choice of creating a new presentation
or choosing an existing one. I opened and closed PP and then restarted the
computer. The darn references are still there. I need to use the same names
in a new presentation so I want those references gone. HELP! Dave M.

I don't quite understand the problem.

It's just showing you a list it keeps of the last few files you've worked on.
It doesn't check to see whether the files are still there or not, but the fact
that they're on the list won't prevent you from creating a new file of the same
name. Just save the new presentation to the old name.

If you're really anxious to get rid of the names, try this:

Fill the MRU (Most Recently Used) list with bogus file names
