Delete Entire Header and Change depth of Footer

Is it possible to delete the entire Header (not just the
contents inside) leaving only a Footer?

Is it possible to change the depth of the Footer? My
Footer is twice as large as my Header (which I don't
need). Consequently this document goes to a second page. I
cannot have second page to this document and I don't need
a header?

Any suggestions?

Have you changed the header and/or footer margin (Layout tab of Page Setup)?
Have you made sure you don't have any empty paragraphs in the header/footer?

I am not sure what the "header/footer margin" is. Is it
different from changing the margin under Page setup?
In both the header and the footer there is a paragraph
mark but nothing else.

The header and footer margin are set separately from the top and bottom
margin. You'll find the setting on the Margins tab of most Word versions,
the Layout tab of Word 2002. If you have no text in the header or footer and
the empty paragraph is causing problems (which it *will* in Word 2002
because you can't get rid of it), you can reduce the header/footer margin to
0".
