Delete document in Word X for Mac

Is there an easier way to delete a document than using Find File?

What's difficult about cmd-F, type a name, drag the found file to the trash?
You can put a shortcut to delete on the Finder window, instead of dragging
to trash. Or right-click (control-click) and select move to trash. (I
guess in Windows you could hit delete or control-x to move to recycle bin?
but that doesn't have anything to do with Find File).

There is no shortcut in Word that will let you move an open doc to trash, if
that's what you are hoping for. I'd be interested in knowing what you were
envisioning as easier, as I find the Finder a very easy way to manage
documents.

By the way, you should know that there are Mac-specific newsgroups, which
might have been a better place for this particular question.

Your information was very helpful. However, what I wanted to be able to do
was to scan my files, find ones I didn't need any more, and trash them.
Using Find requires knowing a file name. I figured out a way to do what I
wanted--just use Finder, Documents, then select the three-paned window. From
that point you can move files around among folders, etc., or send them to
trash. Gramj
