Delete causing lockup

I can't right click on the start button, or on the desktop without the
hourglass appearing and tying up that function until I reboot. If I
highlight a file on the desktop and hit the delete button, the same thing
happens. Once this occurs I can no long switch from window to window since
whenever the curser moves to the tray, the hourglass appears.

Anyone know if there a fix for this? I'm using a HP media center PC m495c
and running Windows Media Center OS.

I suggest starting with Adaware:
www.lavasoftusa.com
find the free version in the left pane, download & install check for the
latest update and let it run.

Have you checked "task manager" to see what process is running 100% Assuming
your virus scanner and security updates are up to date you probably have
some "spyware" or "malware"

best of luck, lets know the results
