I tryed google for this, but it only said "disconnect" a mapped netowrk
drive. I accidentally made one (its named Z:\) but I want to get rid of it
now... Theres nothing on it, how do I do this?

but disconnecting isnt the same as deleting it, no? I want to get rid of it
to the point that the icon is gone from My Computer, for the drive.

Same difference. Disconnecting a network drive is getting rid of it.

hasnt disappeared.

How did this network drive get mapped in the first place?
You cannot "accidentally" map a drive - please explain.

no.. I haven't rebooted. By "accident" I mean I didn't mean to make a whole
new drive, with a letter an all.... I was just playing around, trying to see
if I could figure out why I can only access files on my network via the main
(tower) computer, but not backwards (laptop to tower). Every time I click the
computers name in the Workgroup page, it says I don't have permission to use
this network resource and to contact the administrator. Since this is a
simple home network, I AM the administrator, but I can't seem to figure out
what I have to do to allow access from the wirelessly connected laptop to the
tower files (althouhg, I have successfully setup a connection to use the
printer from my laptop)

Did you ever find out an answer to this problem? I'm having the same issue
with my own home network -- getting this pesky message saying I have to
contact the network administrator. The network is currently useless. My hunch
is that I should delete the whole workgroup from both computers and start
over -- but I can't find any directions for deleting a workgroup. Did you
find any good sources of info about this? I'm getting pretty desperate -- if
any reader of this has knowledge of a method, please reply.

Instead of piggy-backing on someone else's stale post, it
would be better if you explained what you're trying to
achieve and what happens in your implementation.
