I am plagued by this bloody popup,
Windows - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file F:\Documents and
Settings\All users\Aplication data\McAfee\AntiSpyware\data\SpyData.dat. The
data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer
hardware or network connection. P
Had it early on in the ownership of my custom tailored built PC running
winXP home, bet I have clicked on its close button now 3000 times !!!! When
its giving that one below its perhaps every two minutes.
I did notice when doing my video editing using Videoredo to extract adverts,
or TMPGend to author and so on, it never occurred, but back when using Msoft
word, or emails, or Macromedia Freehand, or outlook express, its forever
popping up, and always that bloody spydata.dat. The only time it varies is
when transferring files to my D drive, perhaps get it saying _img4305 is the
file for example, yet that image opens fine. Just typing this out took me 10
mins and the usual message popped up 7 times.
F drive is my boot drive, running dual boot here.
Looking at others posts, there never seems to be a consistent answer as to
its cause. I reckon its something screwy with WinXP development as not once
in win98 or 95 days with crummier hardware did it occur. The files are
always ok, but its such a pain. Its something Msoft have introduced since
then and it latches onto the slightest variation,...am I right ???...as I
say the files are fine, nothing is lost.
Importantly...desperate to know...can I turn that popup off at the very
least, as when it happens it loses the live aspect of the dialog box I may
be typing in, so I have to close it first before continuing.
Now at the end of my patience after 3000 times or more (no I havent been
counting, but thats a fair bet !! )
