I noticed recently that I had to re-applied a registry code to allow more
remembered folder views than normal, and now I am have access problems to the
first tier folder that many of those views applied to.

This one folder with delayedaccess is the only I have noticed so far, and id
first tier to about 2000 folders containing roughly 50,000 files.

This happens occasionally. How can I:
Permenantly attribute my prefered folder views to my folder
Keep first folder access none-delayed

Thanks!

And what registry edit was that? The one to increase the remembered views
to 8000 from Kelly's site? I doubt if that's what caused your current issue
but if you want to see if it was, do a system restore to before you applied
this registry edit.

I did use the 8000 edit from Kelly's, and it was working before this
issue. I have had this issue before, but cannot recall how is was
resolved. I have re-applied the 8000 edit, and I have noticed that I
have regained most of my specific folder views, but the access to the
first tier folder is still delayed. When I left or right-click, it
takes up to 20 seconds for the folder to respond.

Other than the large number of files and folders, what could be the
cause?

Sorry I don't know. What happens in safe mode? Is the delay there? What
about in a different account? Did you try a system restore to when it was
working ok?
