Delay opening Word Files under XP

Word 2000 Files, opened under Windows XP lasts approx. 25%
longer then openend under Windows NT.
The Domain Controller is Windows 2000 Active Directory.
Can somebody help me? It reallay lasts up to 3 or 4
seconds longer under Windowsw XP.

Since you mention you have a domain controller with Active Directory,
this implies to me that you have professional computing resources to
support these things, and that you are loading files from the network.
As loading files into Word from a network involves a lot more than just
XP on your desktop, the best thing would be to consult with the folks
who help your *entire* system so that you can get back those 3-4 seconds
(or more).
