Delay execution of Outlook on startup

I use Outlook 2000 on a WinXP OS, connected to a NTServer 4.0 Office network
- which includes an Exchange 2000 server for email.

Ok, I have worked out how to set my computer so that Outlook and other
programs automatically open on startup (by putting shortcuts to .exe files in
the Start Menu>Programs>Startup folder).

My problem is, when Outlook loads automatically on startup, it loads before
the network has loaded prooperly, and it doesn't load my email account from
the exchange server (which includes emails, address book, etc).

How do I make it so that when I log onto my computer, it delays the
execution of the Outlook.exe file by 10-20 seconds, so that the network can
load first?

Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

Personally, I don't see how that could be. By the time programs in the
Startup folder begin. your network connection should be complete.
